In an effort to spark energy, enthusiasm and excitement towards the formation of a Proud, Unified Richmond Regional Community, Together We Stand is sponsoring an election for “Mayor of the Richmond Region”. Candidates are asked to submit a Candidate’s Information Package which includes a Personal Information Application, a Personal Mission for the Richmond Region and a list of Campaign Goals. Each Candidate who submits the requested information will have a Candidate’s Page created on this website. The election for Mayor of the Richmond Region will take place at the end of December 2008. Any person who lives or works in the Richmond Region, of any age, who has pre-registered with Together We Stand, is eligible to vote in the election. The Candidate who gets the most votes will be declared Mayor of the Richmond Region 2009 with the term lasting for one (1) year.

 

The Mayor of the Richmond Region is expected to use the power of the office to continually strengthen the concept of the Richmond Region, to the best of their ability and in the time they have available. Together We Stand and its partners will support the Mayor with projects and events involving the Mayor, directing increased attention to the Richmond Region as ONE Community. Together We Stand is currently seeking funding to offer the Mayor of the Richmond Region a budget to affect his/her Regional Agenda.
