The Past, Present and Future Section is designed to encourage Richmonders to harness the power of the Region’s past and present to positively shape its future, and the future of all mankind. The Richmond Region currently has all the resources necessary to solve all of its problems and significantly increase the quality of life for all of its citizens. First, these resources need to be recognized and appreciated for their true value, then reconfigured in a planned and thoughtful way.

 

One of the Region’s greatest resources is its past. The Richmond Region can truly say it is the Birthplace of a Nation and the Past Section will catalog and quantify the impact of the Richmond Region on the formation of the Commonwealth and the Nation.

 

Presently, the Richmond Region has a wealth of assets impacting every element of life, but there has been little effort to combine all of these assets in a Regional format or context. The Present Section will catalog and quantify these many assets as defined by the citizens of the Richmond Region, creating a stronger awareness of the Region as a whole and focusing attention on the fact that the Region is much greater than the sum of the individual parts.

 

The future of the Richmond Region is quite bright. If this bright future is to be realized the Richmond Regional Community must plan and create it together. The Future Section will catalog and quantify the many possibilities that the future holds for the Richmond Region and its citizens, as defined by the citizens of the Richmond Region.

 

Each Past, Present and Future Section will rely heavily on the Richmond Region Blog to provide information and feedback. Currently, these sections are blank until we generate appropriate information to get them started.
